MCS Umbrella Journey
Step 1. Express your interest
If you’re a qualified heating installer looking to work on premium heat pump projects with full MCS support, start by expressing your interest with us.
We’re building a trusted network of installers who meet our high standards.
You’ll receive:
- An introduction to Heat Centre and our expectations
- A link to our Installer Guide (covering qualifications, insurance, and compliance)
- Option to book an onboarding call
Step 2. Onboarding
We review your credentials to ensure you meet the standards required to operate under our MCS umbrella. This includes verifying your certifications, insurance, and experience.
You’ll provide:
- Proof of qualifications (e.g. NVQ, BPEC, water regs etc.)
- Public liability and professional indemnity insurance
You’ll receive:
- A free one-day heat pump training (for new heat pump installers or open to those that wish to have a refresh or become an expert in a particular brand)
Step 3. Approval
Once approved, you’ll be officially recognised as a Heat Centre Approved Installer. We’ll provide access to our systems, processes, and support to help you deliver consistent, high-quality installations.
You’ll receive:
- Heat Centre Approved branding assets
- Training in MCS documentation and customer journey
Step 4. Project Allocation
We match you with suitable projects based on your location, capacity, and expertise. Our team handles customer acquisition, feasibility, and design—so you can focus on installation.
You may have your own leads and wish for us to provide you with our umbrella service.

Step 5. Installation & Support
You carry out the installation with full support from Heat Centre. We manage all the MCS paperwork.

Step 6. Commissioning & Payment
Once the system is commissioned and signed off, we handle certification and customer handover. You’ll be paid promptly according to agreed terms.

- MCS certification issued by Heat Centre to the customer

- Payment within agreed timeframe
